• Nā Kamaliʻi O Kekoa is a nonprofit organization based in Honolulu’s Papakōlea region. Founded in 1994 by our grandparents, the organization was born from a simple yet powerful mission: to ensure that every child in our community could pursue their dreams—whether in sports, education, or extracurricular activities—regardless of financial circumstances.

Though the organization dissolved in later years, the spirit of giving never left our family. We, the grandchildren, continued their work quietly—supporting keiki with travel expenses, equipment costs, and tuition fees. In June 2025, we proudly reinstated Nā Kamaliʻi O Kekoa, carrying forward our grandparents’ legacy to strengthen ʻohana and uplift future generations.

  • To provide financial sponsorship, programs, and services that remove barriers for keiki from families with limited resources—empowering them to participate in extracurricular activities, travel opportunities, and community programs. By easing the financial burden, we create space for families to grow stronger together and thrive as ʻohana.

  • A thriving Papakōlea community where every keiki is given the chance to explore their passions, strengthen their talents, and build lasting bonds with their ʻohana—without financial hardship standing in their way.

  • ʻOhana (Family First): Strengthening families by supporting children.

    • Aloha (Compassion & Care): Giving with love, respect, and kindness.

    • Kuleana (Responsibility): Honoring the duty passed down from our kūpuna.

    • Laulima (Unity): Working together as a community to uplift all.

    • Hoʻomau (Perseverance): Continuing the legacy for future generations.

  • Our name, Nā Kamaliʻi O Kekoa (“The Children of Warriors”), is a tribute to our kūpuna whose vision began in Papakōlea. Their mission was to uplift children who had the heart to participate but lacked the means. Today, as their moʻopuna, we continue that legacy with the same spirit of aloha, resilience, and love for our community.
